about

Mancube is an Ndebele folk song in which a man consults a traditional healer over the whereabouts of his wife - whom the song is named after. In this arrangement, I have fused the song Mancube with a traditional Shona song called Zvichapera, which asks 'when did this begin and how will this end?'.

lyrics

Zvakatanga riniko (When did this begin?)
Zvinopera seiko (How will it end?)
Mancube, We Mancube waya ngaphi (Where has Mancube gone?)
Vumelani Sangoma (I open myself up to you, traditional healer)
